About the Instagram Downloader

If a post is a carousel containing several videos, the first video in the post is the one that gets fetched. To grab a different slide, open that slide on its own where Instagram gives it a direct link, then paste that.
Why Instagram fails more often than other platforms
Instagram is noticeably stricter than Facebook or TikTok about automated access. It rate-limits requests coming from data centres, and a server that has made several requests in a short window can be told to slow down even when every individual link is perfectly public. That is why an Instagram link occasionally fails and then works fine a minute later.
If a Reel does not resolve on the first attempt, wait about sixty seconds and try again before assuming anything is wrong with the link. Genuine permanent failures — private accounts, deleted posts, Stories — fail consistently rather than intermittently, which is a useful way to tell the two apart.
Saving Reels on iPhone and Android
- Android: the MP4 goes to Downloads and normally shows up in the gallery on its own.
- iPhone: Safari puts the file in Files → Downloads rather than Photos. Open it there, then Share → Save Video to move it into your camera roll.
