About the TikTok Downloader

Why the in-app save adds a watermark
TikTok's own Save video button does not hand you the file that was uploaded. It renders a fresh copy with the animated logo and the creator's @username burned into the picture, drifting from corner to corner so it cannot be cropped out cleanly. That is deliberate — it keeps TikTok's branding on every clip that gets reshared elsewhere.
This tool asks TikTok for the underlying video stream instead, the same one the app plays before that overlay is applied. For the overwhelming majority of public videos the result is a clean MP4. A small number of uploads only ever exist in a watermarked form — usually clips that were themselves imported from somewhere else — and in that case the watermark is part of the original file and nothing can remove it without cropping or blurring the frame.

Getting the link on each device
